Testimonials

Being in the company of animals and hosts who care for you is a wonderful way to gain peace and harmony in your life.…..what better combination can there be than a retreat at Angel’s Sanctuary? When my husband passed away in February, I knew it would take time to grieve and recover.  Focusing on the present, and strengthening my heart and mind with openness to new things, seemed to be of value. Finding Angel’s Sanctuary gave me the opportunity to be in the company of Anita and Dr. Angel, who have huge hearts. They only want to do good for their animals and their guests. They accomplish that each day. I was looking for peace, space and comfort……I found those, and so much more. Sharing space and time with the sanctuary’s noble animals is an unmatched positive and healing experience that will always remain with me. I have been overwhelmed with appreciation and gratitude for the sanctuary, Dr. Angel, Anita, and the fine animals that they share with guests. There no better place to be.
Dr. Angel and Anita curated the perfect private wellness retreat for me. I needed an escape from the daily stresses of life, and their sanctuary was the ideal place to relax, rejuvenate, and realign. The retreat is set on a beautiful and peaceful land. There’s nothing more special than waking up to the sight of different animals right outside your window. Dr. Angel and Anita take excellent care of their guests, creating a grounding space where you can reflect, heal, and restore balance. The plant-based meals were both delicious and nourishing. If you’re looking for a grounding and heart-centered retreat that reconnects you with nature, then this is the perfect place for you.

"I truly did not know what to expect when I booked this retreat for myself and my 13 year old daughter. Our experience was more than we could have asked for. Angel and Anita shared their incredible home with us for lodging, which was an experience in itself. The generosity and attention to detail far exceeded our expectations. We had everything we ever needed and wanted. The animals were kind, friendly and hilarious. Bonds with the animals and other retreat members were made and enjoyed. I looked forward to every delicious, nutrient dense meal. I was able to enjoy the food and stay on track with my wellness goals. We can't thank you enough!" - Ashley and Samantha Drawdy

Testimonial: A Life-Changing Retreat Experience
"My goal for 2024 was to embrace new ways of healing and coping. I’m not a yogi, and I’ve always struggled with meditation, but when I saw that this retreat involved animals, I knew I had to give it a try.
I went in with an open heart and mind, and the experience was nothing short of transformative. As a complete novice, I worried about feeling out of place, but I was warmly welcomed and supported the entire weekend.
Each day began perfectly with a peaceful morning meditation and a delicious, healthy breakfast. Yoga with the sheep was an absolute highlight, as was feeding a baby calf—it was such a joy!
One of the most impactful parts of the retreat was leaving with a clear mission statement for myself:
"I will declutter my mind, I will declutter my home, and I will not make work my focal point."
This mantra has stayed with me, and I’m making great progress using the tools and skills I gained during the retreat.
The weekend ended with a sound bath, which was an extraordinary experience that I can’t recommend enough. Each activity brought me closer to alignment and helped me take an honest look at the changes I needed to make for my physical and mental health.
I cannot recommend this retreat enough! It was eye-opening in all the best ways and truly a positive, life-changing experience for me."

I attended the January and March 2024 clinics. To highlight some of the points Dr. Angel brought to the class, one that stood out was being mindful and setting intentions. I thought this was great because mostly we focus outwardly and on the needs of others. The talk she gave on nutrition, diet and the use of oils in our food preparation was informative and eye opening. Lunch was delicious. I'm pretty sure everyone attending will be reading food labels from now on in the grocery store and eating less or no fast food!

One of my favorite parts of day one was interacting with the animals and seeing other people get comfortable with the goats and the horses.

Day 2 was just as informative, nurturing, education and nutritious. If anyone is interested in the healing power and love from animals, this sanctuary is a place to spend some time and to learn about Dr. Angel's holistic approach towards health for people and animals where she takes into consideration physical, emotional and mental well-being.

It was two days full of learning, fun and meeting new like-minded people.  Thank you!"

This past weekend my husband and I enjoyed a special Wellness Retreat on the property of Angel’s Animal Sanctuary.

I am not new to alternative medicine having participated in many such retreats around the country. But, this one offered a different level of comfort. It started by meeting new folks who were from the local area rather then imports from far away offering a chance to meet potential new friends. The light breakfast was beautifully presented with flowers and fresh juices and a colorful fresh fruit parfait plus whole grain banana muffins. Each meal was carefully created by a person who cared about the importance of Vegetarian food.

We were invited to groom a horse or just relax but everyone was interested in getting acquainted with the various animals. You could see and sense that the animals were well cared for and their gentleness heightened our relaxation. Later in the afternoon we were invited to enjoy the lovely pool with a ceiling waterfall which created delightful sounds. There was enough time for journaling and getting to know the other partisans.

Sunday started in a similar fashion with Dr Angel offering an overview for ways to live a more healthful life. A sound therapist came and shared her talent with many chakra opening tuning forks and the sounds from 6 Crystal Bowls. My husband joined me and was surprised with how much he enjoyed meeting so many interesting Women and how  the sound relaxed him.

So, if you are able to participate in one of these weekends I’m sure you will enjoy as much as we did."
